One Church: Three Expressions

We meet in three different locations in Fleetwood

Emmanuel at the Mount

When?

Our services start at 10:30am and finish at 12:00. Please stick around for Teas and Coffees after the service.

Where?

We meet the Mount Church every Sunday Morning.

We are an all age congregation and believe we have that family atmosphere! We are a group of people who come together from not only Fleetwood but the surrounding areas. We meet every Sunday morning, with a Sunday school, but our evening services offer something different each week. We ‘do’ church during the week also but it mainly comes in the form of housegroups and other small groups so not necessarily on our premises.

In 2013 the Methodist Church in Fleetwood approached us and asked if we would be able to use their building, as sadly they were at a point of selling it. So we left our property on Lofthouse Way as we were badly in need of more room. We felt a sense of ‘reopening old wells’ in this traditional church building that had been built in 1908. We moved our main congregation and Sunday worship to that site. We have never looked back! It soon became home again. From here we then ‘replanted’ back into Lofthouse Way with a missional team and we are encouraged to see God working with children and families there. We are still in a period of settling but we are excited to begin to use our building for outreach into our community. We continue to sense that we have been given an extra special opportunity to work on ground that has been very much prepared for us in the past by the Methodist movement. We still firmly believe that we are a church planting church and in the future we hope to plant another church in the Fylde coast area.

Situated with the sea in our sights we are very blessed to own this wonderful property but encouraged to begin a new work in the community that we find ourselves in.

Emmanuel Lofthouse Way

Emmanuel Church Lofthouse Way is a vibrant gathering of people, young and old, from all walks of life across the community of Fleetwood.

We are a safe place of love, care and community made up of people who find ‘traditional’ church to be out of their reach or view Christianity as boring and irrelevant, but who have found at Lofthouse Way a place where a journey of faith in God is not out of reach.

Our Sunday Gathering meets on the 4th Sunday of every month at 5:30pm. It is a place for friendship, food, worship and prayer, sharing our life stories and hearing about a growing relationship with God through Jesus.

Throughout the week we run ‘Little Fishes’ (parent and toddler group), ‘KidZone’ (school years 1-6), ‘Clothes Line’, as well as opportunities to gather together to ask ‘Why?’ to the issues of life and faith.

At the core of the church is a team of people from the wider Emmanuel Church family who serve with a heart of missional discipleship. We long to see the Spirit of God break free in our town and its people.

“It’s like coming home – so warm and friendly”

Emmanuel West

Emmanuel West is a church in West Fleetwood with a difference. We don’t have our own building because we want to find ways of  ‘being church’ in community spaces and homes. We meet in small groups and try to keep things simple. We have a big vision though –‘to grow into a family of small community based groups dotted around West Fleetwood and beyond’ We sometimes refer to it as the ‘Tesco express model’ – a ‘church’ on every corner!

West doesn’t do a lot of starting new things but joins what’s already going on. We don’t organise lots of events and expect people just to come, but instead try to build a community of people who are ‘contagious disciples of Jesus’

We meet every Sunday in small groups called ‘gospel communities’, one on the West View estate at the community centre on Eden avenue 10:15am and one at a home in Larkholme. On the first Sunday of the month we all get together at the Rossall Tavern on Larkholme parade.  We usually have lunch together afterwards and we try to find ways to have fun together and disciple one another through the week.

We run a community computer clinic alternate weeks at the Rossall Tavern and  a pilates group most Thursdays in the Larkholme community centre. We do seasonal bible studies, celebrate occasions together, host a Q&A session again in the Rossall Tavern, sometimes we have Saturday instead of Sunday church – to be honest anything can happen (almost)!

Emmanuel West is ‘a church for everyone’ which means you are very welcome to check us out whether you are a believer or not. We think you will find us informal and friendly
