Heart for the future in worship and community

21st February 2021. Today’s message is Pastors Sarah and Chris sharing their heart for where God wants to take us in the area of worship and community. Sadly the first bit of Sarah’s message didn’t record properly, so we’ve written them out for you… When we think of worship, what do you think of? Singing, songs, corporate gathering. You see if we limit worship to a 30 min singing slot on a Sunday morning we are missing the plot, and we are missing our purpose and what we are created for. If you limit worship to just singing you are missing out on the majority of what the bible says concerning this area of life. This is what she says beforehand. Worship is what we give our worth to, it is what we give our value to. We are all designed to worship, we all worship something. And this is such a huge subject and over the next few week myself, Chris and Ed will speak into this, but we want to grow as a church in the area of worship. Publicly, whenever we gather but also in our personal private lives with God. Because we should be a worshipping people all day, every day. Worship and communion with God is not limited to a location or place but there is also something special about when the people of God come together and commune with their Heavenly Father. God wants to speak with us and he wants a living relationship where we God and me me and God love one another, dance with one another throughout our days. But there us also synergy and energy and something happens when we gather. We need both. In Isaiah 6:1-3. Read. Isaiah 6:1-3 NIV [1] In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. [2] Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. [3] And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy , holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” What do you notice – yes a picture of heavenly worship. But the seraphim were calling to one another. They were telling each other about the holiness and the Glory of God.
